Lucy Lawless, a New Zealand-born actress and singer, is well-known within the entertainment industry. Her most notable performances include Xena Warrior Princess and Spartacus Blood and Sand. As an actress she is best known and loved by the incredible role she played in Xena. Lucy took on the role intended to play for Vanessa Angel. However, she could not attend the shooting due to a health issue. In the month of September, 1995 the show was relaunched as a spinoff based on her portrayal of Xena. Lucy has become a well-known actress thanks to the success that the spinoff.
